1/21/10 Port au Prince, Haiti - This young girl had a tibial fracture and an infected wound. Dr. James Krieg, an orthopedic trauma surgeon on the IMSuRT West team, (glasses and blue shirt) helped Dr. Christopher Born, the Chief of Orthopedic Trauma at Rhode Island Hospital, to repair a young girl's tibial fracture. Thursday turned out to be a busy day at the DMAT/IMSuRT hospital near Tent City in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Another 4.7 earthquake, a medical emergency within the DMAT team and a steady stream of patients kept the medical staff and journalists busy. Story by Stephen Smith/Globe Staff.
