1/22/10 Port-au-Prince, Haiti - Operations were being performed three abreast in unsterile conditions at University Hospital. University Hospital is the largest public medical facility in Port-au-Prince, and has absorbed a huge number of casualties from last week's devastating earthquake. Partners in Health, a Boston-based NGO that is very active in building and supporting community based health care in Haiti, has contributed resources and personnel to strengthen the overburdened institution, and many of Partners in Health's other clinics in the country have been flooded with people injured in the earthquake.
